Localisation is the craft of carrying voice, meaning and experience from one language into another. It demands careful attention to tone, culture and the original creative intent.Since becoming a freelance English to German Localisation Specialist in 2019, I've worked on AAA, indie and mobile titles, as well as visual novels, drawing on an academic background in English and North American Studies.Long before localisation became my profession, language had already become my passion. As a child, I wrote stories in German, later explored creative writing and poetry in English, and eventually discovered translation as the perfect meeting point between language and storytelling. Books, films, games and tabletop role-playing have shaped not only the stories I love, but also the way I approach every project.

Every project has its own voice. Whatever form it takes, every word contributes to its audience's experience.I provide English to German localisation for video games and other narrative media, from dialogue, story and UI to item descriptions, marketing copy and supporting content. My goal is always to preserve the original intent while creating a natural, authentic experience for German-speaking audiences that feels as though it had been created in German from the very beginning.Spindrift Creations takes its name from Dylan Thomas' poem In My Craft or Sullen Art, which celebrates craftsmanship driven by a deep commitment to language and the people it reaches.Localisation is more than translation. It's where language and storytelling meet.
